One year ago today, I started this blog to chronicle the cards that I create and to enter an occasional challenge. I really wasn't sure what I was getting myself into, but it's really opened my eyes to a whole new world of creativity that I had no idea existed! Everyday, I find myself exploring this magical world that has really helped me to develop my skills, teach me new techniques, and challenge myself to a higher level.
So today, I'm sharing a card I made for my cousin who just had a much-needed kidney transplant. This card was originally inspired by a Papertrey Ink post introducing the Stitches & Swirls stamp set.
I had originally made the flowery background much bigger, but got "stuck" on how to add the sentiment. Then, while I was scrolling through all of the Make it Monday thumbnails, #2 Vellum Sentiment Strip caught my eye, so I ended up trimming down the background, adding a pink accent and then the vellum sentiment - Voila, problem solved!
Cheers!
Lin :)

ReplyDeleteGreat finish to a very pretty card! I love the Stitches and Swirls set! The vellum sentiment strip is a very compatible layer with the soft colors and design of the stamps.
ReplyDeleteYou chose such pretty colors for that stamp set. Very nice card. Hope your cousin is doing well after her surgery.
